Review Climate Activator Certification Programme (Release 3)
In 2024, the Trademark and Claims Policy was scheduled for revision (on selected topics) in consultation with a selected group of stakeholders. The so called ‘urgent revision procedure‘ has been applied, as per the rules stipulated in the general Revision Procedure vs 1.0. Reason for this urgent revision was the need for alignment with upcoming Green Claims Regulations.
For this revision of the Trademarks & Claims Policy a specific Trademark & Claims Policy – Revision Procedure has been developed. This document stipulates (1) the justification for revision, (2) a summary of the (proposed) changes up for consultation, (3) the stakeholder consultation process, and (4) timelines of this so called ‘restricted consultation‘.
As part of this consultation, a draft version of the Trademark & Claims Policy with all proposed changes has been shared with the pre-selected stakeholders and discussed in personal 1:1 stakeholder sessions during the period January – April 2024.
The feedback received has been collected and processed (and can be made available on request including the pre-selected stakeholders). A summary, with an overview of outcomes, conclusions and follow-up actions is available here.
The revised Trademark & Claims Policy has been published in May 2024.

Certification Body Performance Mechanism
In addition to the Assurance Protocol (vs. 1.1) the certification team has also drafted a document to better assess and monitor the performance of the Certification Bodies and their auditors when they are performing assurance tasks for the Certification Programme, the ‘Certification Body Performance Mechanism’. This document specifies the key performance indicators (KPIs), the monitoring activities and their timelines and the scoring system. The document has been sent out to several stakeholders for consultation.
