How do we do that?
Once certified, your footprint is recalculated as part of the annual audit. Each year, this footprint must demonstrate at least the minimum percentage reduction in emissions required by the Standard – the ‘Annual Reduction Target’.
Progress is tracked through your Annual Reduction Plan, with year-on-year footprints compared to assess performance. If reductions are not on track, or if planned actions do not deliver the anticipated outcomes, the plan should be updated. New measures must then be defined that are both technically and financially viable, and these are verified by the auditor.
This process of continuous improvement helps establish your organisation as a learning organisation – one that consistently plans, acts, reviews, and improves. At the end of the audit season, Anthesis will measure the aggregated emissions of all certified clients.
How do we ensure we create the greatest possible impact?
In line with the ISEAL Codes of Good Practice, Anthesis aims to establish a stringent Monitoring & Evaluation System. Beyond assessing the performance of certified clients, this system is specifically designed to track the intended impact of the certification programme. In other words: does the standard lead to maximised impact? And if not, what should be changed?
To answer this, we maintain close contact with clients, certification bodies and other stakeholders. Firstly, through a quality survey conducted after the audit, enabling us to measure client satisfaction. In addition, we critically review the aggregated reduction and offset figures to evaluate whether clients are on track with their reduction targets and to identify how we can further enhance progress. Finally, feedback on the content of the standard can always be submitted outside the formal programme revision cycles to certification@anthesisgroup.com.
