Reduction
Many certification programmes offer net zero pathways but rely heavily on offsetting to justify green claims. The Climate Activator Certification Standard is more ambitious, requiring clients to progressively reduce their own emissions year on year – with a clear goal:
- Organisations must reach (close to) zero emissions by 2050, and
- Certified products must reduce emissions by 25% by 2030.
Offsetting alone will not solve the climate and nature crisis – real change comes from reducing emissions at source.
Independent Label
The Climate Activator Certification Standard provides a structured framework and tools to accelerate your decarbonisation pathway and make your progress visible to stakeholders.
Every stage – from setting climate policy and implementing decarbonisation measures, to offsetting residual emissions and communicating results – is independently tested against rigorous criteria. This enables you to proudly carry the Climate Activator Certified label for your organisation, products, and services.
The standard was developed in line with the ISEAL Codes of Good Practice, and Anthesis is a formal ISEAL Community Member – the global alliance for credible sustainability standards. Certification is independently assessed by accredited third-party bodies, ensuring the highest levels of credibility, quality, and trust.
Structured Approach
Climate policies often suffer from unclear goals, fragmented approaches, and invisible results. The Climate Activator Certification Programme addresses these challenges by:
- Aligning your climate policy with globally agreed goals such as the Paris Agreement,
- Embedding measurable targets consistently across your organisation, and
- Providing independent verification of your reductions and compensations.
Becoming Climate Activator Certified demonstrates that you have:
- Calculated your carbon footprint,
- Reduced emissions as far as possible, and
- Offset the remainder through certified climate projects that also deliver nature and community co-benefits.
Why does the programme work for you?
The Climate Activator framework ensures your organisation takes the right, qualitative steps towards net zero. It:
- Provides clarity on your CO₂ emissions, reductions, and offsetting,
- Gives structure to your internal sustainability programme,
- Functions as a management tool for evaluating internal processes and suppliers,
- Prepares you for stricter climate and nature regulations on the horizon, and
- Positions your organisation as progressive, innovative, and future-ready.
The Climate Activator Standard offers more than recognition – it provides a licence to operate in a world demanding genuine action. The Climate Activator Certified label is available for organisations, products, and services.
